There is no quarrel that the most cost effective way to maximise an Internet firm is to have a Page 1 Google search engine listing for the most utilized keywords that are relevant to the items or service being sold. How though, do you ensure that the content is 100% effective? It has to be appropriate, original and of value to a particular site and also it has to be provided in enough quantity for it to make an impression amongst the millions of Gigabytes of content out there on the web.

Google however plays is cards close to its chest. There are a number of questions that I have yet to see any definite answers to, for example, what level of activity and content generation provides a place on Page 1 and what definition of quality does Google apply to it algorithms.

The reality of course is that it is a moving feast and the answers rely on the quality and activity of the competition – which is hard to assess.

As the internet enlarges alters and evolves how will Online Marketing organisations change their offer to meet the requirements of what will become a very sophisticated client base?

As in any market those firms who acknowledge the changes (before they happen) and alter their offering in line will survive and prosper. Those that do not will remain second rate and then ultimately fade away. Is it development of the internet? What I see in the optimisation market is sellers fine-tuning methods that are current and which are based on the advertising hoarding model, which will bring in income in the short term but I see no evidence that forward thinking Online Marketing businesses are planning a different model for the future or even offering a debate on what that future may consist of.
